Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 7, 2026 · Last updated: May 7, 2026

BurnToScroll is built so that almost nothing about you leaves your phone. This policy explains, in plain English, what we do and don't collect, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

1. Who we are

BurnToScroll ("we", "us", "our", or the "App") is an iOS application that helps you replace doomscrolling with short bouts of exercise. The App is owned and operated by Vishwesh Pratap Singh. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at golukicoding@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Stored on your device, never sent to us

All of the information you provide to BurnToScroll is stored locally on your iPhone in the App's iOS sandbox. We do not operate any backend server, account system, or cloud sync. Specifically, the following stay on your device only:

  • The name you enter during onboarding
  • Your onboarding answers (current and target screen time, goals, pain points)
  • Your selected blocked apps (held by Apple's Family Controls; see below)
  • Your daily goal, exercise preferences, reminder time, and other settings
  • Your exercise history (reps, plank duration, session timestamps)
  • Your earned screen-time balance
  • Your streak, achievements, and gamification stats

Camera frames

During a workout, the App reads frames from your iPhone's camera and runs them through an on-device pose-detection model (Google's MediaPipe, bundled into the App). The model produces keypoints that are used in real time to count your reps or measure your plank hold. Camera frames are never recorded, never saved to disk, and never transmitted off your device.

Information we do not collect

BurnToScroll contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking SDK of any kind. We do not know how often you open the App, how long your sessions are, or which screens you visit. There is nothing for us to look at on the server side because there is no server.

3. Permissions we request

iOS shows you a permission prompt the first time the App needs access to a sensitive capability. The prompt text below is exactly what you'll see.

  • Camera (required) "BurnToScroll uses your camera to track exercise form and count reps." Used in real time for on-device pose detection only. The App is not functional without it.
  • Camera — share card (optional) "BurnToScroll needs camera access so you can take a photo for your shareable workout card." Only used if you choose to take a fresh photo for the optional workout-share card. Decline at any time.
  • Photo Library — read (optional) "BurnToScroll needs access to your photos so you can attach a background image to a shareable workout card." Lets you pick an existing photo as a share-card background. Photos stay on your device.
  • Photo Library — save (optional) "BurnToScroll saves shareable workout cards to your photo library when you choose to." Used only when you tap "Save" on a share card.
  • Notifications (optional) Used for daily exercise reminders, streak warnings, and balance alerts. You can decline or revoke this in iOS Settings → Notifications → BurnToScroll. The App still works without it; you just won't get reminders.
  • Family Controls / Screen Time Required so iOS can shield apps you select until you've earned screen time. Apple owns and manages this entitlement. Your selected app list is represented by an opaque Apple object that BurnToScroll cannot read the contents of, and is stored only on your device.

4. Third-party services

Apple

The App is distributed through Apple's App Store and uses Apple frameworks for in-app purchases, push notifications, and Family Controls / Screen Time. Apple's handling of this information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to process and reconcile in-app subscription purchases on top of Apple's StoreKit. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or open the paywall, RevenueCat may receive an anonymous customer identifier, your subscription receipt, and basic device metadata. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, exercise history, or any other content from the App. Their handling is governed by the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

That's the entire list

There are no other third-party services. No analytics provider, no crash reporter, no ad network, no marketing pixel, no email-list integration.

5. How we use information

The limited information described above is used only to:

  • Make the App work (count reps, track screen time earnings, schedule reminders)
  • Process and restore your subscription, via Apple and RevenueCat
  • Reply to support emails you send us

We do not build user profiles, train machine-learning models on your data, or sell anything to anyone.

6. Sharing & selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The only "sharing" that occurs is what's strictly required for the App to function: subscription receipts going to Apple and RevenueCat for billing purposes (see Section 4).

7. Data security

All of your in-App data lives in iOS's per-app sandbox, protected by the operating system. Because we don't transmit your data to a server we control, there's no central database to be breached or intercepted in transit. If your device itself is compromised, the same data-loss exposure applies as to any other app on your phone.

8. Children

BurnToScroll is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The App requires iOS 16 or newer; users in jurisdictions with a higher age of digital consent should comply with their local rules and, if a minor, only use the App with a parent's permission. If you believe a child has used the App without permission, contact us and we'll help you wipe their device-local data.

9. Your rights & choices

Because your data lives on your device, you have full control over it without needing to send us any request:

  • Access: open the App. Your stats, history, settings, and onboarding answers are all visible inside it.
  • Correction: edit anything in Settings or by re-running onboarding via Settings → Personalize Again.
  • Deletion: Settings → Clear History wipes your exercise log; Settings → Reset All Settings wipes all in-App data and returns it to a fresh-install state. Uninstalling the App removes everything iOS has stored for it.
  • Subscription data: to delete your RevenueCat record, contact us at golukicoding@gmail.com and we'll forward the request.
  • Opt-out of "sale" or "sharing": nothing to opt out of — we don't engage in either.

Residents of California (CCPA / CPRA), the EU and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR), and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have the rights granted by those laws. Email us if you want to exercise any of them.

10. International users

Your data does not cross any border because it never leaves your device. The only exception is subscription information processed by Apple and RevenueCat, which may be stored in the United States or other regions per their respective privacy policies linked above.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll bump the "Effective date" at the top. Material changes will also be highlighted in the App on your next launch.

12. Contact us
