Welcome to Expense Tracker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Expense Tracker mobile application ("App", "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Expense Tracker, you agree to:

• Be bound by these Terms of Service
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Be at least 13 years of age
• Provide accurate information when using the App

2. Description of Service

Expense Tracker is a personal finance management application that provides:

• Expense tracking and categorization
• Budget creation and monitoring
• Receipt scanning with AI (premium)
• Analytics and spending insights
• Data export capabilities (premium)
• Budget alert notifications (premium)

3. License Grant

3.1 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

3.2 Restrictions

You may NOT:

• Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the App
• Remove or alter any copyright notices or trademarks
• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
• Use the App to harm, harass, or violate the rights of others
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the App

4. Subscription Terms

4.1 Free Tier

The free version of Expense Tracker includes:

• Up to 20 expenses per month
• Up to 2 budgets
• Basic analytics
• Manual expense entry

Usage limits reset on the 1st day of each calendar month.

4.2 Premium Subscription

Premium subscription unlocks:

• Unlimited expense tracking
• AI-powered receipt scanning
• Unlimited budgets with overspend alerts
• Advanced analytics and insights
• PDF and Excel export

4.4 Payment and Auto-Renewal

• Payment will be charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• Automatic renewals will cost the same price you originally paid for the subscription

4.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

• iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions
• Android: Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain premium access until then. No refunds for partial periods.

4.6 Free Trial

If a free trial is offered:

• Trial period duration will be clearly stated at sign-up
• You may cancel during the trial period without charge
• If not cancelled, you will be automatically charged at the end of the trial
• Only one free trial per user/account

4.7 Refund Policy

All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests must be made through the respective platform:

• iOS: Apple's refund policy applies - Request a refund
• Android: Google's refund policy applies - Request a refund

5. User Responsibilities

5.1 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device
• All data is stored locally on your device
• We recommend regular backups (export feature for premium users)

5.2 Accurate Information

• You are responsible for the accuracy of your expense data
• AI-powered features may contain errors - always verify extracted data
• Expense Tracker is for personal record-keeping, not official financial reporting

5.3 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the App to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Engage in any fraudulent or illegal financial activity
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights
• Transmit malicious code or harmful content
• Attempt to reverse engineer the App

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Ownership

Expense Tracker, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all data you enter into the App (expenses, photos, budgets). We do not claim any rights to your personal financial data.

6.3 Trademarks

"Expense Tracker" and associated logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without prior written permission.

7. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services:

• OpenAI: AI-powered receipt scanning
• RevenueCat: Subscription management
• Expo: App framework and services

Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees of accuracy, reliability, or availability
• Warranties that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted

We do not guarantee:

• 100% accuracy of AI-powered receipt scanning
• Suitability for professional accounting or tax purposes
• Prevention of data loss (always backup your data)
• Compatibility with all devices or operating systems

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription in the past 12 months
• We are not liable for data loss, financial losses, or missed financial obligations
• We are not responsible for errors in AI-extracted data or financial calculations

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your use of data extracted by the App for official purposes

12. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App
• Update features, remove features, or add new features
• Change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
• Enforce usage limits on free tier

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be effective:

• Immediately upon posting for non-material changes
• 30 days after notice for material changes

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Termination

14.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time by:

• Uninstalling the App from your device
• Cancelling your subscription (if applicable)

14.2 By Us

We may terminate your access if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Abuse or exploit the service

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, please contact us at golukicoding@gmail.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

16.2 Arbitration

Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, except where prohibited by law.

16.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class actions, except where prohibited by law.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the App.

19. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use Expense Tracker. Users under 18 should have parental/guardian consent.

20. Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations. You may not use the App if you are located in a country subject to U.S. embargo or trade sanctions.
