Terms of Use

Last updated: 14 April 2026

Important. MLA Prep is an educational study aid for UKMLA exam preparation only. It is not medical advice and must not be used to diagnose, treat, or manage any patient. If you are a patient and need medical help, contact your GP, NHS 111, or emergency services.

By downloading, installing, or using MLA Prep ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Purpose of the app

The app provides study notes, flashcards, practice questions, and timed mock exams intended to help candidates prepare for the UK Medical Licensing Assessment (UKMLA). It is an educational product only and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the General Medical Council (GMC), the Medical Schools Council, NICE, the BNF, or any UK medical school.

2. No medical advice

3. Practice questions and mock exams

Practice questions and mock exams are written for revision purposes only. They are not licensed by the GMC and are not drawn from official UKMLA examination papers. Scores, pass marks, and difficulty levels inside the app are indicative learning tools only and do not predict performance on the real UKMLA or any professional assessment.

4. Accuracy and updates

We take reasonable care in preparing content but make no warranty that it is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Medical guidance changes; content in the app may become out of date between releases. You are responsible for verifying anything before relying on it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

7. Intellectual property

All content within the app — including notes, questions, explanations, flashcards, code, and design — is owned by MLA Prep or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app for your own exam preparation. No other rights are granted.

8. User-generated content

The app does not currently accept or publish user-generated content. Feedback you send us by email is voluntary; by sending it you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use that feedback to improve the app, without obligation to compensate you.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important. Study progress is stored locally on your device. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details of what information is handled and how.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MLA Prep, its authors, and its licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, examination results, clinical outcomes, goodwill, or reputation, arising out of or in connection with your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any direct loss arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the app, or (c) your use of the app's content in any clinical or patient-facing setting.

13. Changes to the app and to these Terms

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. Material changes to the Terms will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or any of its features at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or if we cease offering the app.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that, where you are a consumer resident elsewhere, mandatory local consumer-protection laws of your country of residence will continue to apply.
